Buckthorn Bark Liquid Extract supplies frangulins A and B with glucofrangulins and emodin glucoside from Rhamnus frangula bark. The hydroxyanthracene glycosides are readily recovered into the polar fraction. Bark is traditionally aged before use to lower fresh-bark hydroxyanthracene precursors; confirm the ageing or processing basis and the hydroxyanthracene specification.

FAQs
What are the primary formulation applications of Buckthorn bark?
Most buyers use it in traditional preparations. As with any new water-soluble extract, pilot-test in your specific base before committing to a full production run.
Which carrier should I choose — water, propylene glycol or glycerin?
Water alone suits most aqueous formulations. Propylene glycol improves cold-stability and solvency in preserved systems; glycerin gives a milder, skin-friendlier carrier for leave-on formulations. PG and glycerin variants are offered at 500 g and 1 Kg, with PG also available at 5 Kg.
