Kalijiri Liquid Extract retains vernolide with vernodalin and quercetin glycosides from Centratherum anthelminticum seed. The sesquiterpene lactones give the characteristic bitterness and are the constituents traditional use depends on. Sesquiterpene lactones are recognised skin sensitisers; assess topical inclusion carefully. Bitter Cumin Water-Soluble Extract — known as Kalijiri in Hindi and Kattu Seeragam in Tamil (Centratherum anthelminticum).

FAQs
What are the primary formulation applications of Bitter Cumin?
Most buyers use it in Ayurvedic digestive liquid preparations and traditional formulations. As with any new water-soluble extract, pilot-test in your specific base before committing to a full production run.
Which carrier should I choose — water, propylene glycol or glycerin?
Water alone suits most aqueous formulations. Propylene glycol improves cold-stability and solvency in preserved systems; glycerin gives a milder, skin-friendlier carrier for leave-on formulations. PG and glycerin variants are offered at 500 g and 1 Kg, with PG also available at 5 Kg.
