Kutki Liquid Extract concentrates picrosides I and II with kutkoside and apocynin from Picrorhiza kurroa rhizome. The picrosides are iridoid glycosides and are preferentially recovered during aqueous extraction, carrying the bitterness with them. Listed CITES Appendix II, but the annotation excludes extracts — this grade ships without a permit. Kutki Water-Soluble Extract — known as Kutki in Hindi, Kadugurohini in Tamil, Katuka Rohini in Telugu, Kadugurohini in Malayalam, Kali Katuki in Marathi, and Katuki in Bengali (Picrorhiza kurroa).

FAQs
What are the primary formulation applications of Kutki?
Most buyers use it in liver-category Ayurvedic liquid preparations and bitter-tonic bases. As with any new water-soluble extract, pilot-test in your specific base before committing to a full production run.
Which carrier should I choose — water, propylene glycol or glycerin?
Water alone suits most aqueous formulations. Propylene glycol improves cold-stability and solvency in preserved systems; glycerin gives a milder, skin-friendlier carrier for leave-on formulations. PG and glycerin variants are offered at 500 g and 1 Kg, with PG also available at 5 Kg.
