Mangosteen Liquid Extract supplies alpha- and gamma-mangostin with garcinones from Garcinia mangostana pericarp. The xanthones are prenylated and only sparingly water-soluble, so a water-derived extract carries far less than the 10 to 90 percent alpha-mangostin grades made by solvent extraction. Do not carry a solvent-extract mangostin percentage across to this material.
