Milk Thistle Liquid Extract concentrates silymarin flavonolignans with silybin and taxifolin from Silybum marianum seed. Silymarin is poorly water-soluble, which is why the 80 percent grades are solvent extracts and why silymarin-phosphatidylcholine complexes exist — a water-derived extract carries a fraction of that. Do not carry an 80 percent silymarin specification across to this material.

FAQs
What are the primary formulation applications of Milk Thistle Seed?
Most buyers use it in liver-category liquid formulations and beverage bases. As with any new water-soluble extract, pilot-test in your specific base before committing to a full production run.
Which carrier should I choose — water, propylene glycol or glycerin?
Water alone suits most aqueous formulations. Propylene glycol improves cold-stability and solvency in preserved systems; glycerin gives a milder, skin-friendlier carrier for leave-on formulations. PG and glycerin variants are offered at 500 g and 1 Kg, with PG also available at 5 Kg.
