Stoneflower Liquid Extract retains lichen polysaccharides with salazinic acid and phenolic acids from Parmelia perlata thallus. Usnic acid is the lichen metabolite the genus is known for and is poorly water-soluble and hepatotoxic at dose; a water-derived extract carries the polysaccharide fraction instead. Confirm the usnic acid figure for any ingestible application. Stoneflower Water-Soluble Extract — known as Kalpasi in Tamil and Dagad Phool in Marathi (Parmelia perlata).

FAQs
What are the primary formulation applications of Stoneflower?
Most buyers use it in spice premixes and traditional preparations. As with any new water-soluble extract, pilot-test in your specific base before committing to a full production run.
Which carrier should I choose — water, propylene glycol or glycerin?
Water alone suits most aqueous formulations. Propylene glycol improves cold-stability and solvency in preserved systems; glycerin gives a milder, skin-friendlier carrier for leave-on formulations. PG and glycerin variants are offered at 500 g and 1 Kg, with PG also available at 5 Kg.
