Yacon Liquid Extract carries fructooligosaccharides with inulin and chlorogenic acid from Smallanthus sonchifolius tuber. Yacon is unusually high in FOS relative to other prebiotic roots, and the FOS chain length distribution matters more to fermentation behaviour than the total figure. Ask for the degree of polymerisation alongside the FOS percentage.

FAQs
What are the primary formulation applications of Yacon Root?
Most buyers use it in prebiotic liquid formulations and beverage bases. As with any new water-soluble extract, pilot-test in your specific base before committing to a full production run.
Which carrier should I choose — water, propylene glycol or glycerin?
Water alone suits most aqueous formulations. Propylene glycol improves cold-stability and solvency in preserved systems; glycerin gives a milder, skin-friendlier carrier for leave-on formulations. PG and glycerin variants are offered at 500 g and 1 Kg, with PG also available at 5 Kg.
